Our Projects
Get Togethers
Monthly Meetings
On the third weekend of each month, our events provide an informal way for children and parents to get to know each other. This is the core purpose of Kowetha.
Barnardo's Reports
Events on the local, national and international stage have reminded us of the importance of organising and disseminating our shared knowledge and stories.
This year we worked with Barnardo’s to produce a new, updated report which has a focus on the experiences of teenagers and young people growing up it Cornwall. It was launched at Richard Lander School on 22nd April 2024.
Parent & Children Forums
Supporting and celebrating what makes us special with regular online meet ups.
We love Cornwall and all of the things that make it such a special and unique pace to live – including us. We also recognise that living in a predominantly white area, such as Cornwall, can raise extra challenges for children and families visible by colour.
Our virtual conversations emphasise the value of networking with other families with similar backgrounds so that we can face any difficulties, should they arise, with increased confidence. It’s also nice to have a chat at a time when hopefully suits us!
These online sessions are held on the second Sunday every other month from 7pm to 9pm. You can drop in and out of the conversation at any time. Our dates for 2025 are 12th January 12th, 9th March, 11th May, 13th July, September 14th and November 9th.
Feel free to email us for more information or the link for the next session.
Library
We have a big box of books that reflect the histories, lives and achievements of people of colour that you can borrow.
